Wat kan ik zeggen…
Deze jongeman is echt van goud.
In het dagelijkse leven is hij de grootste knuffelaar, het zachtste eitje en de vriendelijkste ziel die ik ooit kende. Hij gaat elk conflict uit de weg, schikt zich gemakkelijk in onze roedel maar eigenlijk in elke groep van honden. Hij houdt enorm van racen, maar kan tegelijk enorm zacht en geduldig zijn met onze papillons.
Een blije, vrolijke man die nog steeds met alles wegkomt, simpelweg omdat zijn oogjes altijd zo vol onschuld en goede bedoelingen zijn.
Met hem is alles gemakkelijk, hij is nooit reactief, benadert altijd vriendelijk en wil heel graag gehoorzaam zijn.
Op het agilityveld is hij 1 brok energie en zit hij vol vuur. Hij geeft altijd 200% en kan daarin goed om met het maken van fouten. Werken met hem is werkelijk een plezier door zijn doorzettingsvermogen en zijn enorme will to please. Waardoor hij het in een volgende poging echt graag beter wil doen. Met de jaren heeft hij een groot vertrouwen en een enorme power gekregen, waardoor hij een geweldige snelheid kan maken.
De laatste maanden zet hij prachtige tijden neer en heeft hij al meermaals top 3 plaatsen gelopen in een sterk deelnemersveld op internationale parcours (oa. Dutch open, Mendig Duitsland, HAM in Zwitserland).

Odil is uitgegroeid tot een pracht van een kerel, zowel vanbinnen als vanbuiten. Hij blijkt de zachtste van al onze honden te zijn en zeker ook de slimste. Hoe hij stipt alles doet wat je vraagt eens hij zeker is van zijn opdracht, een ongezien fenomeen voor mij. Ik verbaas me nog steeds elke dag over wat hij nu al zo betrouwbaar allemaal doet.
In het dagelijkse leven is hij nog steeds de clown van de familie, die een lach op ieders gezicht tovert en ook de onschuldige die met alle kattekwaad wegkomt. Hij is ontzettend lief, vriendelijk en zachtaardig. Gemakkelijk in de omgang in het dagelijks leven, rustig wanneer nodig en vol vuur wanneer het kan.
Hoe kunnen we niet gek zijn op deze wonderlijke puppy die met het hart gekozen werd.

Daar was dan ons 2de nestje: 3 reutjes en 3 teefjes.
Het plan was een meneertje aan te houden, maar door problemen bij de bevalling moest Olga gesteriliseerd worden. Daardoor stelden we de keuze van het geslacht dan toch nog even uit.
Van de 6 puppies waren er 5 die mijn hart stolen. Dan was de ene favoriet en dan weer de andere. De top 3 wisselde continu. Wat waren ze allemaal zo ontzettend leuk! … Behalve 1…
1 pupje van de 6 zei me helemaal niets en dat was Blueberry. Blueberry sliep alleen maar en viel verder nooit speciaal op. Hij was altijd de laatste om dingen te doen, de rustigste, de stilste… Not my cup of tea…
Ware het nu net déze puppy waar onze zoon Cas op slag verliefd op werd op dag 1. Hij kwam na school thuis, wierp zijn eerste blik in de werpkist en daar en dan gebeurde het. Puppy blauw was het en zou het voor altijd blijven.
Heel de nestperiode lang vertelden we hem dat Blueberry – Beirke niet onze keuze was en dat hij zich er niet teveel mocht aan hechten. Want we hadden geen idee welke pup er zou blijven, een reutje, een teefje? Banana? Of misschien Clementine? Of Raspberry? Of… Maar 1 ding was zeker, Beirke zou het zéker niet worden!
Toen de pups bijna 6 weken waren veranderde er ineens heel veel. Alles werd door elkaar gehusseld, ik was helemaal de kluts kwijt.
En plots was Beirke daar, de pup met het foute oortje, de pup met de droopy oogjes. Plots was hij het meest geëngageerd tot interactie, het felste om een trekspelletje te spelen en het meest volhardend daarin.
En zo kwam het, dat die ene pup, die nooit in beeld was, die ene pup waar Cas al vanaf dag 1 weg van was, ons blijvertje werd.
Vandaag is onze coole kerel ruim 9 maanden. Hij is de baby van het huis die iedereen rond zijn vinger wond. Het is een ontzettend grappige hond, die ons dagelijks aan het lachen maakt. En zijn goofy-droopy oogjes maken dat je gewoon echt niet boos op hem kan zijn.
Hij is ontzettend slim, heeft een goede portie werklust gecombineerd met een meer dan prima nadenkend vermogen. Een beetje meer pit dan zijn 2 grote broers, maar dat is ok!
We zijn benieuwd naar wat de toekomst ons zal brengen, maar de reis tot hiertoe was al ontzettend leuk en grappig!
Hij is de meest geweldige pup van allemaal – uiteraard ;). Wat zijn we ontzettend blij met hem!

What can I say…
This young man is truly golden.
In everyday life, he is the biggest cuddler, the gentlest soul, and the kindest dog I have ever known. He avoids conflict, fits easily into our pack, and indeed into any group of dogs. He loves to race, but at the same time can be incredibly gentle and patient with our Papillons.
A happy, cheerful guy who still gets away with everything, simply because his eyes are always so full of innocence and good intentions.
Everything is easy with him, he is never reactive, always approaches things in a friendly way and is eager to obey.
On the agility field, he is a bundle of energy and full of fire. He always gives 200% and is good at dealing with mistakes. Working with him is a real pleasure because of his determination and his enormous will to please. This makes him really want to do better in his next attempt. Over the years, he has gained great confidence and enormous power, which allows him to reach amazing speeds.
In recent months, he has achieved excellent times and has repeatedly ranked in the top 3 in a strong field of competitors on international courses (including the Dutch Open, Mendig Germany, and HAM in Switzerland).

Odil has grown into a beauty of a guy, both inside and out. He turns out to be the gentlest of all our dogs and definitely the smartest too. How he punctually does everything you ask once he is sure of his assignment, an unseen phenomenon for me. I still marvel every day at what he is already doing so reliably.
In everyday life, he is still the clown of the family, putting a smile on everyone’s face and also the innocent one who gets away with all the mischief. He is incredibly sweet, friendly and gentle. Easygoing in everyday life, calm when needed and full of fire when he can.
How can we not love this wonderful puppy who was chosen with the heart.

So there was our 2nd litter: 3 males and 3 females.
The plan was to keep a male, but due to problems in giving birth, Olga had to be spayed. As a result, we postponed the choice of gender for a while.
Of the six puppies, five stole my heart. Then one was my favourite and then the other. The top 3 changed constantly. How incredibly fun they all were!
…. Except for 1…
1 puppy out of 6 wasn’t in my interest at all and that was Blueberry. Blueberry just slept and never stood out especially otherwise. He was always the last to do things, the calmest, the quietest … Not my cup of tea…
If only it were this puppy that our son Cas instantly fell in love with on day one. He came home after school, took his first look in the whelping box and there and then it happened. Puppy blue it was and would stay forever.
Throughout the litter, we told him that Blueberry was not our choice and that he should not get too attached to him. Because we had no idea which puppy would stay, a male, a female? Banana? Or maybe Clementine? Or Raspberry? Or… But 1 thing was sure, it definitely wouldn’t be Blueberry!
When the puppies were almost 6 weeks old, a lot suddenly changed. Everything got mixed up, I was completely lost.
And suddenly there was Blueberry, the pup with the wrong ear, the pup with the droopy eyes. Suddenly he was the most committed to interaction, the keenest to play a tug-of-war game and the most persistent in it.
And so it came to be, that the one puppy, which was never in the picture, the one puppy that Cas loved from day 1, became our keeper.
Today, our cool guy is over 9 months. He is the baby of the house who wrapped everyone around his finger. He is an incredibly funny dog who makes us laugh on a daily basis. And his goofy-droopy eyes mean you just really can’t be mad at him.
He is incredibly smart, has a good portion of work ethic combined with a more than fine thinking ability. A bit more spunk than his 2 big brothers, but that’s ok!
We are curious to see what the future will bring us, but the journey so far has already been incredibly fun and funny!
He is the most amazing puppy of all – obviously ;). How incredibly happy we are with him!
